So I was flying last night with my squad, just haulin in a tempest. I racked up four kills when flying nearby an enemy runway, this field was off a coastal area but there appeared to be no ships in sight. I was NE of the enemy field at over 2k flying at 350 knots when BOOM       tower. I didnt know what hit me so I called to my squaddies in the area to see if there was a con on my six.... I then pm'd the guy who killed me to ask him what he downed me with, I got no reply and needless to say was pretty pissed. I logged after this out of frustration went to bed. Today I spent a little time wondering how the hell this guy shot me down, so I went to my stats and looked this kill up. It was bigmac75 and he hit me with a SHIP GUN?  WTF? no visable ships in sight and I was inland like 3-5 miles and I get hit with a 5 inch or something? Im not buying it and Im pissed because I shoulda saved the recording of that sortie. SO I guess from now on, since TT is so full of bugs I wont be flying any perkies from now on. Im not that mad about this but it sure does take away from having lots of players in one arena. I hope if they have a TT in the new version this will not be a problem.

Just a guess here, but was this at P61 in the NW corner of the map?  If so the Rooks had a beautiful killing ground set up between planes from a southern airfield, 2 carriers and their planes and supplies, and not to mention GV's from the port itself.  The 5" inchers were feasting on planes, and the 8" inchers were feasting on GV's trying to roll into the port.  OH and did I mention that dryspawn LVT's suck?  I did a couple of sorties there and left because I began to feel like a duck in a shooting gallery.

I agree with you that TT is full of bugs (I was flying a bomber, I asked for a gunner right as I was about to come within viz range of the bas, one joined when I was about to drop bombs and.....BOOM, I was 2K or so past the base, I was heavily damage, the left waist gun was out, the controls were kinda....wierd, AND all my bombs were gone. Another thing I noticed is that when I bailed, if I made it to the ground my mouse would freeze in place, I couldn't move it but all the buttons still worked. I had to log out and back in so I just hit typed ef in the radio. it was kinda annoying.

But it is still fun, it offers the most newbs in one place . *Nem hunting newbs* OH YA!!!

If there were any ships present they would have been firing auto ack on them. Thats why im so pissed about it. Its just because of the glitchy TT.....

Very odd.  I recommend running your auto film on sorties and hopefully this will provide evidence on any future odd occurences that can be submitted to HTC or viewed by others to discern the issue.

And the one thing I noticed last night and first time I have come across this problem was I couldn't see an enemy wirb until I was inside his shooting range. I tried different settings but I think it was a lag problem and I knew exactly were an enemy wirb was and I was under 1k when his icon would appear and I really wish it was like this all the time.

I was on Titanic Tuesday last night, also.

A squad mate was several sectors to the south of my position, but when he keyed his mic on squad channel, he appeared in my sector on the clipboard map.  When he wasn�t keying his mic, the phantom orange dot persisted in the north, incorrect sector.  He landed in the south, re-launched, yet the offset phantom image returned.

Is it possible that you had a phantom image somewhere near enough to get hit by a ship gun?  Even if such a bug would not be visible, you may have been unlucky.

A stretch, I know, but may be the two phenomena are related.

I had a good time yesterday all the way into this A.M on Titanic Tuesday.  Plenty of fights.  No issues.  I even took out an LA to thin a herd once. When I landed, someone on 200 said the real life Assi would turn over in his grave if he saw that.  Pretty funny stuff.

Can't a cartoon pilot w/ a German aces name get 1 LA sortie a tour without grief?

Hey Silent6. What's too wierd about this is I was never on a ship gun last night. I checked and see I did get a kill on you from a gunner position. But I was never in a ship gun last night. Oh well, we have to take the good with the bad. No hard feelings I hope.

You were hovering near an enemy base in a perk ride, waiting for hapless victims and you got killed.  Sounds like justice to me.... yup.
