When you are captured by the enemy they take all your personal effects, including screenshots, films, and that dirty avi you hid in the system directory so your mother won't find it...

I can see the text on country now. "Somebody help me pulleeezzzze. I had two vulchs and had to bail because a red guy got within 5K of me. I want to land them for the adoration of my countrymen. PULLEEZZE HELP. Just drive 15 miles north of A21 and pick me up!"

"Could somebody rescue me? Come on guys...PULLEZZE!"

ect.

It would be the same as when someone posts a mission and wants everyon to join!  :lol

It is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end, but it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

I think it is an ok idea. It would give me something else to do when I am having a bad night of dogfighting. The only downside I see is all the chatter from ppl begging to be picked up. Other then that I don't see where it could hurt anything.

Thank you Cajun. If anyone can see how it would HURT anything then tell me, don't just go "ug", "groan", "lol, this again", " :lol", or any of the other things you guys use to complain with out really giving a reason for your objections, good or otherwise. And RC, I would do the same thing, the only real problem I can see, other than the radio chatter (it CAN'T be worse than some of the things you hear on there), would be that it would get you killed a lot.

Always set return time based on gas or ammo left before entering a fight.  It gives you a fighting chance at getting back to base.

Well ya, if your about the kills, but if you are just for taking ground and clearing the skys for your transports and bombers then fighting to the last bullet is better.

And this has what to do with rescuing a downed pilot?  I will only assume that you want to be rescued?  That you often need to be rescued?

How about you receive no benefits from being rescued that you wouldn't get from merely bailing out and ending your flight?

Is this about "points"?

For the immersion factor, sure, why not.  Otherwise?  NAAAAAAA.

I did some searching and I didn't find anything like this that was newer than 1007 so either I'm not doing a good search or no one brought this up in a while so either help me correct my mistakes or no whining.

Well anyway, I thought it would be nice to be able to pick up downed pilots and make it so they don't count as "bailed" or "shot down" and they won't loose any perks, vids, or screen shots, or whatever they have. I want to be able to land my C47 near (like half a mile or so) a couple of downed pilots and pick them up; once I am in range a prompt could appear on screen like the accept join thing. It would also be cool to be able to drive by in a PT boat or an LVT or something. You could do it with a jeep or a half-track or whatever you want. Just think about it. Since it would ba a high risk job you could have the ammount of perks set to 5 or so times that of a normal sortie.
Wait, are you one of those loonies that think score matters?

I think they are more for adding a less stressful, less competitive dimension to the game similar to resupplying a base or bringing supp's to a gv.  The score thing would just be an incentive for the downed pilot to request help to give the "rescuer's" something to do other than being fodder..

I like the idea..

AWwrgway I do not need to be rescued very often, I'm stating a fact about how whiny people are about chat, and like I said almost no one talks about the game. And just like always Awwrgwy your always there to bash me or convert my words into some way that makes me seem more "noobish." So for the sake of all of us, stop being a jack ass.

You don't need any help from me.

 :aok

And, other than the personal attack, I'm still not really getting your train of thought here.

Just trying to have a discussion.
