KG(J)54 Totenkopf Recruiting
« on: June 19, 2009, 05:55:31 AM »
Trying to form a new Luftwaffe squad that is equally at home flying bombers, attack, or fighter ops.  The squad name KG(J)54 is taken from an historical squadron which formed in 1939 and saw action until the last days of WWII in Europe. They flew a spectrum of aircraft from the JU88 and HE111 to the ME262. (I hope to have a 262 skin in the near future)

The purpose of the squad is to have a small group of experienced players who enjoy history and flying in a more realistic manner.

We will fly Knights and fly Luftwaffe only, complimenting the only other Luftwaffe squad in the game. I'm not into medals and certificates, points, yapping on #200, or command structure.  Just looking to gather a small group to fly in the MA and in some events if possible. And, while there are no age limits, I'd like the group to be more on the experienced side. As for myself, I have been flying AH off and on since about 2000 or 2001. My strengths are the FW190 and 262. Bombers and GV's are my weaknesses, but I am open to learning.

If you like to fly Luftwaffe, like history, and want a smaller squad, this might be for you. If interested, talk to me online or pm me here with your callsign, email, and the planes you fly most.

Here is a link to a pretty good squadron history of Kampfgeschwader 54 (Totenkopf Geschwader) or "Death's Head Squadron"  Later in the war they transitioned to the 262 in both the fighter and jabo roles.

Thanks for the kind words gents. Been working on the 262 skin a bit (I have a great respect for the guys that make skins...a lot of work there).   Been flying the A-8 a bit to make points for the jet.  Now transitioning to the Ju87 for dive bomber training.

See you in the air  :salute

Shark, you definitely have a good concept going here. I'm looking forward to some aerial combat fun-- your Luftwaffe-themed squad against our 91st Bomb Group. I admire your appreciation for historical realism. <S>

Thndregg..nice website you guys have there. If you fly Bish and fly bombers, we will eventually meet  :devil . Right now my squad is an "army of one".

Stampf..Means a lot sir   :salute

Overall I am looking for a small group of 3 or 4 (optimally) for various fighter and jabo ops. Most hops will be in the 190 and the jet fighter.

Hey, you gotta start simple. :) It goes slow, but you end up with a quality squad eventually. Thanks for the compliment on the site. Twintail got me started and I fumbled around with it from there.
