No it doesn't use an interrupt, but it does draw from the amperage pool of the USB.  I'll use an example.. my TrackIR headset attachment has a wire for a USB power source... when I plug it in the computer doesn't even recognize anything being plugged it.. this is because it only uses the power/ground wires and not the data wires.

Excellent! See there Falcon, you are set.

yea,,I am so ready to try it out.. :x

They will both be arriving tommorrow.. :x

I was hoping  to use the OB sound and then wait a day and try the sound card to see the difference, but OH well, cant have everything..

I will be doing an F-disc as my x52 has started uncalibrating again after a month of being perfect..I think when I did a couple of system restores it caused some sort of problem with the X52..Dont think I like system restore too much anymore, will just have to be very careful with what I adjust.. :)

It's the stick. Replace the stick and use your throttle and rudder pedals.

Like I said above, the X45 and X52 act strangely and die a slow, painful death when not supplied with enough power. That's why everyone recommends using wall-powered USB hubs with them.

Short answer no that sound card doesn't do the EAX thing like it should. If you were looking for a really good sound card the ones being put out by ASUS or Auzentech are really good and have some nice drivers that don't have all sorts of clutter built into them. OR I can sell you an A3D based PCI card that I have had for 10 years...it is the card that would have put Creative out of business IF they weren't such a small start up at the time and allowed themselves to sell out to Creative.

Falcon, you stubborn rascal. Let me reason with you here. Search the threads. Did you find any posts where there was a comparable problem with the CH stick?

Nope, but they're, what, two to four times the price if you don't have anything to start with? I prefer just taking care of my joystick. :p

for fathers day And my birthday I am getting a turtle beach headset and a creative soundcard... :x

I have both and both are excellent.  The X-Fi XtremeGamer is probably the best of the X-Fi line of Creative sound cards and offers great 7.1 sound.  The Turtle Beach TBS-2114 Earforce HPA2 5.1 Surround Sound headset has great sound for games and movies but not so hot for music.  They're comfortable too, wearing them for a couple of hours at a time without any discomfort.

The only problem with using the Earforce HPA2 headphones with the X-Fi gamer is that you will lose 2 channels and sound will downgrade to 5.1 if you use the passover cables that come with the headphones.  The only way to keep the 7.1 sound is to unplug the headphones from the speakers when you want 7.1 sound or use the passover cables for convenience and live with downgrading to 5.1 and losing both side channels.

Not that bad. He has rudders and a throttle so for 90 bucks and no more issues. Good way to go.
