Trip to the USA
« on: June 20, 2009, 05:33:25 PM »
Maybe some of you can give me some useful tips!

My wife and me are visiting the States for about 3 weeks (27th June till 16th July). We will land at Memphis, pick up the rental car. First we will visit some friends in Springdale, Arkansas. After that we want to drive over Pine Bluff down along the Mississippi to New Orleans. From there towards Florida (Panama City) and then back to Memphis.

I know that i can use the i-net to get useful informations, but maybe someone can give me useful hints concerning camping, hiking, shopping (clothes, hunting gear) and dining out. Maybe even some good hotels to stay.

Any tip is appreciated!

Many thx,
Ike

You are going to want to lug hunting gear back on the plane home?

I am not interested in guns or knifes, but rather in accessories.

These things will be shipped separately to Germany. But over all, this is not that important.

Any kind of help is appreciated in the other topics.

Awesome Sirfrancis Iam from Springdale AR and I recommend going a town down to Fayetteville and hitting Dixon Street. Some nice Bars there. And if you like golf theres a couple of really nice golf courses  about 20 mins away in a town called Bella Vista. Theres also a really nice Civil war battle field there(The Battle of priairie grove). Theres lots to do man. :aok

Sorry just had to ask. Yeah as wrongway said the Calelas store is a life experience. Trust me, I spent 3 hours in the fishing section alone...

Bass Pro Shops are nice too...

I believe there is an academy outdoors in Mobile, AL.

They beat Cabelas and Bass Pro on most things I have found.

If you're going to be out and around in Memphis, look these guys up.  http://www.thedempseys.net/  The hottest rockabilly band I've ever seen.  They do things with a standup bass that should be illegal!  ;)
