metal versus metal GV battles.

Is that what you kiddies call spawn camping now?

I tank a lot Sir.  I say very few true tank battles occur.  Most of the time it resembles a shooting gallery in favor of one country or the other.  Run & gun battles do occur on occasion and when they do they are a hoot!

This is what I was thinking about when I mentioned metal versus metal.

Spawn camping, IMO is just as lame as vulching.  As someone said earlier, it's the GV equivalent to it.

So...was in EW last night.  4-5 of us were taking a small airbase defended by 3-4 of them (some in armor, some in planes).  Was a good battle - they'd kill our armor, we'd kill theirs - couple of airplanes up and we kill each other.  Town almost down and troops inbound.  The airfield was just deacked.  Since I never vulch, I thought I'd take a couple minutes and see what the attraction is for those that regularly do it.  Killed two planes, took the base a little while later.

What is it about vulching that appeals to those that do it?  I thought it was boring and lame; just as I thought it would be.  Sure, we were supporting the ground troops but that's not the most fun way to do it.  Usually being on the receiving end, I know the frustration and anger it generates.  One must really be a pathetic person to regularly take part in vulch fests.

actually, i find vulching somewhat difficult. it seems to me that the ground always jumps in front of me, and i killshoot myself on it. if not that, then one of those damned buildings, or the radio tower ho's me.  :furious :x

if not that, then for some ungodly reason, the ground guns shoot me to little itty bitty pieces, and i seem to feel like i look like this :x :x as my aircraft deposits spare parts along the runway for the badguys to use.  :noid :noid

Oh how I wish we had actual 'tank battles' in the MA. All it turns into is spawncamping. The GV situation is strictly the player's fault. 99% of the guys here are too lazy to start a battle. Spawning out and sitting behind a hill is alot easier and alot less time consuming.

I despise the vulch. I cannot make myself do it, even when my countryment are engaged in it. I'd rather circle and wait for someone to up and take a cheap shot at them while they're on the ground.

That being said, there's one redeeming quality to being vulched.... the anger and frustration you feel when you're vulched repeated by some score hound makes the satisfaction even that much sweeter when you finally do get wheels up, grab a little alt, and then proceed to T&B and shoot his sorry F4U-4 down.

And that's no JOKE, either.  :lol

I like it when I vulch guys like you that think that if they can manage to get wheels up then they'd get their 'revenge' only to end up in the tower just as quickly as when I vulched them.

There's nothing wrong with the occasional vulch-fest.  In fact it's a time honored tradition.  They even did it in real life for you realism guys.

I get about 3-4 vulch kills per camp.  It's fun whacking n00bs who think they can get airborne off a capped field.  It's all part of the learning experience.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Seems like a bit of faux indignation to me.  Why keep upping from a base where you are clearly at a disadvantage if it is going to cause you so much 'anger and frustration'.

I'm in the vulching is boring.  When it gets to that point, I'd rather fly through the hangers at the enemy base and see how long it takes for the flak to get me.

To each his own however.
