I do not like locking threads in an arbitrary manner, but I also know all too well there will be people who will come into this thread and post shock images to get attention. They will push the line as far as they think they can, which is usually excessive.
All I have to ask is, what value does a thread like this bring to our forums compared to the effort it will require in keeping it clean?
You see, even though I posted a warning, I would easily say 99% of the posters who will violate the forum rules, never actually read the thread. I wish I had a forum option that would force people to read the entire thread before they could post to it.
So here is what will happen. Some poster will make his/her shock image post. Then I suspend the poster, after cleaning up the mess. The poster will send threatening emails, he/she will tell me there are worse things in elementary school,...ya-da ya-da ya-da. He will call to try and get me fired. In the end he/she ends up being banned from the board, and the game and we lose a customer.
So, is it worth the risk of having all that nonsense occur? From my perspective, it really is not worth it.
