Another video card newb question
« on: June 30, 2009, 01:46:56 PM »

Reading elsewhere seems my 8400GS is letting the side down. I read that the 9800GT or 9800GTX will increase performance considerably but as one is twice the price of the other the question is will I see the extra bang per buck for the GTX over the GT.

I have a 560W PSU with 170 W set to 3 & 5 volt rails and 360W set across the various 12v rails.

I am happy to pay the extra £100 for the GTX so long as it brings benefits

So the questions are

Are the 9800's direct plug and play replacements for the 8400? (after drivers are loaded)
Is the rest of my system compatible?
Will I see the benefits of the GTX on my system?

Of course all advice is accepted free of liability

A GTX+ is worth the extra monies over a GT.  You would have to check the specs on the card you are thinking of getting with the makers specs and requirements.
