1600x900 res
« on: July 01, 2009, 10:13:32 AM »
Im running 1600x900 res on my new comp but one thing I find is that everything looks alot smaller or maybe its just because the detail and res is much more refined, getting to the point Ive noticed that on the horizon I couldnt see much spots for cons way way out. I only got a chance to play on TT last night so im not sure if things will be better tonight. One thing I didnt like so far is that I can see when someone starts to fire on me, I mean there are no tracers to be seen. I know some players use no tracers but there were a few that I never saw anything I just heard the sound of me taking hits. I turned off the aliasing on the VC control panel and I get 60 frames with full res. I just want a few suggestions if you guys have any. Thanks S6

You need to look up the specifications of your monitor (I'm assuming it's an LCD as all new computers are), and run the "Native Resolution" for that monitor.  I've never seen one that is designed to run at 1600X900 (1600X1200 if normal screen is typical, or 1680X1050 if widescreen) but yours could still be different.

If you want to post the model of your monitor maybe I can find it for you...

Get this set correctly first before making any assumptions for graphics quality...

I was not aware this was a laptop.  Yes, 1600X900 is correct.

Check your in-game video settings.  Make sure the sliders aren't set all the way to 'performance'.. especially distance detail.

Lastly, check your Ground/Full view settings (shift F1/Shift F4).

Wow that's a great laptop.   Silent have you tried the beta and what's your framerate there?

When you run in widescreen, it sizes the image up and "crops" the top and bottom, so you'll be seeing less of the screen, unless you go into the setup and change your field of view settings on the AH settings screen (same screen you set resolution and preload, etc)
