not enough perks? quit changing your name to stack up the perks.

edit: or if you don't fly fighters you would have to build up perks for fighters, bomber and vehicle perks don't work for 262

Quit blowing your perks on F4UCs, F4U4s, and Spit14s.  :)

IMO the 262 is crap. If you want a perked plane that is actually worth the perks you're risking then try the temp.

If you fly a high ENY plane and shoot down a low ENY plane you get lots of perks.  If you do the opposite you hardly get any so you've really got to do it a lot.

Learn to fly lesser planes, save your perks and I agree, fly the Temp instead of the 262 but the 163 on the other hand is a great plane.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

For LW, try the 109s if you want to farm perks. The G-2, G-6, G-14 and K-4 have fairly high ENY but are all very competitive. If you shoot down a few P-51Ds, La-7s and Spit 16s you'll start raking in the perks.

When killing an enemy, the perk points you earn are basically

Your plane's ENY / enemy plane's ENY

So if you fly a 109G-2 (ENY 30) and kill a Spit 16 (ENY 5) you get 30/5 = 6 perk points
But If you fly a Spit 16 and kill a 109G-2 you get only 5/30 = 0.17 perk points for that kill

This is further modified according to how you ended the mission ( get home & land for more points) and your country's player numbers (fly for outnumbered side for more points)

Unfortunately your problem seems more to be getting any kills in the first place... I recommend hooking up with a trainer or some practice with an experienced player in the TA.

EDIT: Just saw you actually have at least two kills in a 262 in Main Arena...

IMO Mossi and 190A8 are the best perk farmers in the LWs. Its very easy to get 30-50 perks per sortie with them if you target 5-10 ENY planes.

You need to apply for a AH perk point credit card.  17.5% APR (variable) no charges if the perks are repaid last day of TOD.  None home owners can apply and no perk debt checks will be carried out.

Consolidate all your perk debt from a previous perk card and well give you 200 perk points for free.  Stay with the AH perk credit card for 18 months and receive another 250 perks free and 175 perkies for ever year after the initial 18 month.

Come on treat yourself.  Why wait.  You can have it now.....for free.  You deserve it.  Why struggle saving up  perk farming.  It can be your pleasure today.

Apply today and receive 100 perk points absolutely free.

Oh how true....

Just today, the first day of the new Tour, I decided to try out a 262. Biiiiig mistake!!

I have been flying usually Ki-84, Hurricane IIc and the Typhoon. After a few weeks I garnered about 300 fighter perk points (I know, not much, but I only fly a few days out of the week). I have contemplated trying out the Tempest for the last week but didn't want to because I felt I needed more perkies for that safety buffer. I had over 60 kills (I think) in the Typhoon, plus I did some practice offline and online in the TA with the Typhoon to help me get ready to use it in the main arena.

Instead, for some stupid reason in the Blue arena, I decided to try out a 262 and forsake the Tempest. I haven't trained in it much in the TA or offline, so really..I was green as hell in this thing. So I take off and head for a Rook base under attack. I get about 8K Alt and bear down on the battle below the base. I am bookin' at about 400 and see a P47 low and slow, so I try the boom & zoom tactic and bear down on the Jug. I get closer really fast and then....I start to compress! Well...you guessed it...I augured. Never fired a shot. Pretty sure the Jug pilot got the kill....lucky him. Embarrassing as hell. I could hear the laughter now from the other side and probably the rooks that were there that witnessed it. The first thing that came to mind was: "why oh why didn't I take the Tempy?" That debacle cost me 91 perk points.

So you see...the posts above explain the perk system, but not how to use them wisely. That was my fault. If I would have stuck to my original plan(e), the outcome probably would have been better if not less embarrassing. :cry

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of good 262 sticks out there, but I ain't one of them; and after today...it'll be awhile before I up another 262... :D

On another note: I have in fact upped a Temp once and made it back OK. I wished I remembered that before I upped the jet.  :o
