A minor Fleet Request
« on: July 02, 2009, 12:26:16 AM »
NO not more controlable fleets.

But mainly for the aircraft carrier. Perhaps the person in charge of the fleet can choose the paint/camo scheme of the ships under his command?

For example Make the Carrier look like the Big E, Or the hornet or the yorktown? Perhaps change the paint scheme to look like a japanese carrier? Or a german one?

Even perhaps make ones themed on Bishes, rooks and knights. Placing the logo on the flight decks out towers?

Chances are this is not possible in AHII but still I can dream

Sort of like this idea, different skins for the CV. Although instead of letting the TG commander change it, I'd say have it specified in the map.

I kinda put thought into that. Map varing TG's But really I wasthinking along the lines of nastolga or things like Carrier based squads adn groups. Having teh ability to costumize a CV. For example say "Killer A" squad" is a navy fighter group. Well know for there fighter role. While "Stinging B's" Squad isn't so good.

Well You see a CV and TG group below you can know who's in control of it and know whom to expect to come up. Which in the right hands can be both fun and a powerful physiological tool

The problem with that theory is rarely do you see only one squad roll from a CV. Map-based is the better option, especially because command of the boat can change at any time.

I don't see how you would skin a Japanese carrier or even a German (was never completed) on an american essex class?

You realize that the "Big E" and Enterprise were the same ship, right?

I dont know about skins sets but a useable text board on the bridge that states the mission plan for the TG would be nice....it would keep newbies from upping off a CV near an enemy airfield thus giving away the CV's position.

If you believe that, I've got this bridge for sale in Brooklyn....   :D
