rgr rip. I thought you were comparing the latest model of the P-61 with an early model of the 38. That aint fair.

In either case, I still believe the P-61 would have better performance in some areas, while the 38 retained dominance in e-retention and climb rate...and I believe also hi alt performance.

We should make a Craggenmore fund and set HTC a case of it labeled "P-61 or Bust!"  ;)

My info says that the P-61B tops out at 366mph, well below the P-38L's 414mph.

The P-61C has a top speed listed as 430mph, but I understand that the C was too late for WWII.

P-61B Black Widow

Top Speed: 366mph
Initial Climb: 2,200ft per minute
Service Ceiling: 33,000ft
Range with maximum fuel: 2,800 miles
Width: 66ft
Length: 49ft 7in
Height: 14ft 8in
Empty Weight: 24,000lbs
Maximum Takeoff Weight: 38,000lbs
Armament: 4 M-2 20mm cannon fixed forward and a dorsal turret with 4 .50 calibre machine guns.
Ordinance: 6,400lbs of external stores.

I think that it would be a neat aircraft to have even in a daylight context.

I don't think it stands out as a particularly stunning night fighter however.  It is a bit slow for intruder work.

Mosquito and ME110 could both come in two variants, anti-shipping(for MA and general use) and night fighter(for CT and eye candy)

The same graphics model can be used, so it wont be wasted because night fighters arnt simulated well with them icons above peoples heads  :)

Just have one for usual stuff, and a good looking one for those who love the night fighter paint schemes or radio masts (maybe someone likes them things on the front?)  :D

So i still say we should get the planes, let hitech work out the radar stuff later.

Bringing the Wooden wonder into the discussion again, it must be remembered that a mosquito showed up very badly on radar.
If we get mossies in AH, maybe it would be a good idea not to give a dar dot at night for a mossie.
Only at night, for it would of course still be visible for ground observation troops at day.
How about that   :D

The Mossie is going to be Canadian, Tronski, and yer just going to have to learn to accept that.  :D
