How do brits select their pilots? It seems you're going in without knowing exactly what you'll be doing...
The UK has 3 air arms- the RAF, Army Air Corp and the Fleet Air Arm, which i'm joining. Initial Officer Training is 35 weeks at BRNC Dartmouth including 3 weeks of flying grading. Then i head off to Barkston Heath at RAF Cranwell for 26 weeks of Elementary Flight Training. Upon completion only then am i streamlined for either fast jet or rotary, so it's a long time from being able to say what i'll be flying.

At least you know why i was defending the Royal Navy in that thread diehard, i'm biased as hell.

It would be nice to fly a harrier before they are withdrawn from service.
