P47D -- (Ash??)
« on: July 19, 2000, 04:39:00 AM »
Hi there!

I was just wondering if someone found out by now what the differences between the 25 and the 30 models are - except the dive-brakes off course

Ok, any help (especially on whats modeled in AH) is appreciated.

The -30 has more power. Watch the MAN-pressure for 100% and wep for both planes, the -30 can go with higher man pressure. This will affect climbrate, acceleration, speed etc.

Ok, thx niklas

That is all? no difference in weight (armor or something)?

If it was that way why should one use the 25 ???

 Purzel,

Sorry to have abandoned you last night, but I was in the middle of a furball and then had to run over the TA.
I fly LW iron but, Young Ash is the P47 man of the house and I will have him contact you.
What little I know about the P47 series I learned from a posting of an URL from Westy. Maybe he can post it here again :-).
My understandings of the 47 series are as follows: Speed: D30 is faster, Stability: D25 is less stable and wants to stall much sooner than the D30 <no Dive flaps on the 25>, Energy Retention: D30 excells here {all 109 pilots think it's overmodeled :-)}. Get the D30 fast and you can "Zoom to the MOON",and both models are tough as nails, and those 8 50 cals can put a real hurt on any plane. I think the D25 was introduced to have an earlier modeled Jug for Scenerios < hope! > and to round out the later war plane set.

Best of Luck Pruzel,

Horrido!

The D25 and D30 were both late model Jugs, late 44 early 45.  Flying both in AH it seems that the -D25 feels a bit lighter than the -D30.
