Thanks mate, that's ok, but it doesnt cover setting that are needed to convert 16 bit to 8 bit (RGB to Indexed color) in Photoshop.
Anyway, i experimented with setting and i think this works ok.

Pallete: Exact
Color: 256
Forced: None
Transparency: No

256 is 8 bit.  The app that's recommended in that tutorial, Bright, does a better job of indexing to 256 than PS does.

PSP will export it to Bright.  The quality will turn out much better using Bright.  Many use it when skinning.

Heya Klingen,

Sometimes the indexing in Photoshop will be OK for you.  However, most of the time (and 9 outta 10 graphics I help fix) are from indexing within their rastering program.  The guys that have commented here have given you great advise.  Always index outside of your raster program.  The results in-game can be astounding between the two.  However, you are the artist.  Try it both ways and see which is better to you.

Thanks for posting the link moot.  Cant figure out why Skuzzy never stickied that thing :(

At this moment PS finished the job, and it looks ok.

If ok is all your looking for then your done.

The servers at the link there for bright recently crashed and they lost some files. So bright might not be available there now.
