Crash on start up

I used to have vista but even by tweaking it couldnt run Aces high properly.

Yesterday i switched from vista to windows 7, and right away i installed Aces High, but it crashes the second i click the icon.

Using the troubleshoot i get the message: "Installation error, Aces High is not being run out of its original installation folder, this is normally caused by an incorrect drag from the start menu."

I'm certain i didnt drag anything, i installed aces high several times in different locations, i tried the Vista version and the Beta, both give the same problem.
i also tried a several compatibilities.

please help me out,

im stupid, but for some reason i think if you go to the HTC folder, find the shortcut that starts the game in that folder, right click and copy the shortcut then finally replace your current desktop shortcut with the new one it may work the problem out. I doubt i could have the answer though  :lol

Make sure you have the native drivers installed for the video and sound cards.

Yes, installing a videocard driver solved that problem, but online ingame im still warpy, same situation as windows Vista  :frown:

I noticed the variance in delay line is bouncing like crazy, but offline Aces High seems to work ok.
I tried using gamebooster to close programs running in the background, no results.
My power options are on high performance

im on a notebook, processor: intel core2 duo 2x2.50Gb
                         RAM: 4.00 Gb
                         Graphics: NVidea Quadro FX570M 256mb
                         Windows7 64bit

Yes, i have windows firewall

but I also use AVG internet security, which I believe took over some of windows firewall functions (disabled it, for at least some part)

Disable AVG when you intend to play online. If for some reason the Windows firewall comes online after disabling AVG disable the Windows Firewall as well. See if that will help out your problem.

What type of connection do you have?
Also are you running through a router? 
If so wireless connection?
Are you running trackir?
What type of headsets?
You should run a speed test to check ping and bandwidth.

You need to do this.. I was having the same problem with Win7 on my desktop until I disabled the 'cpu throttling' option in Bios.  I don't remember if it was called that exactly, but something similar.

What it does is lowers the multiplier for your processor when you don't need the speed, and this makes it run cooler and use less power.  Being you have a notebook, I'm sure the effect is even more amplified.

You also need to go into your power options from windows and set it for high performance (control panel/power options).

- I have a wireless ADSL connection
- I'm running through a router
- I believe I dont use trackir
- no headset

speed test:

Download Speed: 3185 kbps (398.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 424 kbps (53 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 139 ms

i tried entering the bios, it seems to have disapeared after installing windows 7..

Windows 7 will not remove your ability to get into bios, as bios is loaded long before the operating system begins to.

Most computers have a key you press immediately after powering on the computer.  It is usually F1, F2, F10, DEL... but I have seen others.  You might need to find the documentation for your computer to figure it out.

I can enter BIOS, but speedcheck/cpu throttling cant be changed here (doesnt show in the bios for some notebooks)

but, at the power options, my minimum and maximum processor state are at 100%, so cpu throttling should be disabled anyway.

Is there any other option that i can try?
