Yet another request for WW2 vet questions and topics
« on: October 16, 2001, 03:46:00 PM »
As you may or may not know the Virtual Pilots Finland society of WW2 online combat sims hobbyists does muchos active work with the World War II veterans.

We meet them from time to time, talk with them and interview them.

Some results can be found from our history site: http://www.compart.fi/icebreakers/WW2History.html

Another heavy duty round of meetings is about to start. Tomorrow I'll go with Kossu to the monthly gathering of Pilven Veikot (chaps of the clouds), the society of Finnish WW2 pilots. If things go well we'll talk with some of them, snap photos and interview some fellows, and IF things go really well we just might get persmission to get nosy in their future meetings as well.

Also next friday our society will have a special "Hug the Blenheim" autumm trip. We will go to see a mega rare Blenheim bomber, that is stored our of sight, guarded and hidden, in Central Finland Aviation Museum. We'll have three (count it 3) WW2 Blenheim veterans with us.

And now I'm pushing you once again:

if there is any topic you just might be interesting, ask. We'll be able to meet just about any kind of Finnish WW2 people - bomber, fighter and recon pilots, bombardiers, gunners and so on. People who have flown US, British, French, German, Italian, Russian etc planes, from 109s, Fiats, Brewsters, Blenheims, Ju-88s, Dornier 17s and so on to about whatever that has ever flown.

I got plentiful pile of topics and questiosn - but if any of you have something that nobody has thought to ask before, or would like more knowledge about something, yell and I'll see if I meet anybody who might know about it. Thanks.
