Hello everyone,
Recently I decided to avoid potential heart-aches by backing up critical files on our family's computer. However, the problem is the files total 7.8 GB. Don't get me wrong, I have enough DVD+RW disks to back them all up. However, I enjoy simplicity opting not to spend 1 hour selecting files and folders I want to back-up in order to fill up one disk with as many of those files as possible while the other disk will take on the remainder of the files.
I figured ImgBurn has a feature to split or make multiple ISO images to fit all my files onto my DVD+RW disks. My attempts to locate/utilize such a feature have been unsuccessful so far. This is what I have attempted up to now:
Within the ImgBurn settings I selected, "4.7 GB" for File Splitting under the Build category. Afterward I selected the two root folders of what I wanted to save, told ImgBurn to save the image to, "C:\", then created the image. It appears ImgBurn created two separate image files, "file.i00" and, "file.i01." Accompanying these two files is, "file.mds." I head over to the write section to burn the images to my DVD+RW (I asked ImgBurn to add the images to the write query once it finished creating the image).
In the write query is one file, "file.mds." I think to myself, "Okay, the .mds file will notify ImgBurn that this process will require two DVDs and will ask for the second DVD when it finishes burning, 'file.i00.'" So I press the, "Build" button. Much to my surprise ImgBurn notifies me that I will be burning too many files for the disk to handle. Once again I figure maybe ImgBurn will be notified by, "file.mds" as to the need of a second DVD, so I press, "Yes" to, "Burn Anyways."
Well, as you may have figured, it didn't work. So I'm wondering if there's a way to get ImgBurn to either build two separate .ISO files or if there's a way to set up ImgBurn to automatically burn the remainder of the files in the queue to a different DVD disk?
Thanks in advance.
