It almost looks fake to me. Look at the link Moot posted. If you look closely enough it seems the building is a miniature as well as the aircraft.

Its hard to tell the blurred tree seems really far away at first and shouldnt be blurred, while a second look makes the tree seem closer and explains why its blurred

regardless, if its fake, damn nice job on photoshop  :aok...if its real....im moving !!  :rofl

it is fake because if they followed the jet then all the non moving objects would be blurred. if the cam was steady then the jet would be blurred. the jet and the building shouldn't both be sharp.

the jet and the tree look too big in comparison to the building.

At least look and see if it's reported in the news or something.

Apparently the camera has a very good shutter speed, what a great picture.

Yesterday a friend found this F/A-18F photo and passed it along my way and I've added it to my collection.

Here's something healthy to chew on though from this picture:  Since everyone was talking about percieved distances, remember that the next-gen Super Hornets are ~ 25% larger than the previous Hornet models...  but I'm not saying he isn't pretty close to the building.  The wingspan is percieved as spaning the distance of three stories off that building, that's a percieved distance of ~30 feet, give or take a foot.  The actual wingspan of an F/A-18F though is about 45 feet.... must of been a heck of a view standing on that balcony.

At least look and see if it's reported in the news or something.

The thing that bugs me is… The cockpit is casting a sharp shadow on the rest of the fuselage. The vertical stabilizer and even the vapor trail are casting a shadow. Clearly the jet is in direct sunlight.

Why is the building not in direct sunlight? Note the lack of crisp shadows. Considering that one camera is (allegedly) capturing the jet and the building from the same angle. The shadows should be displayed identically on the two objects.
My password at work had to contain exactly 8 characters… I chose Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

I think it's just an example of how good digital cameras have become. First off, it's and obvious telephoto effect bringing objects closer together than the actually are, secondly clearly it's a high shutter speed in order to freeze the moment. Thirdly, what a lucky shot.

The sheer quality of digital pictures is amazing long since surpassed the quality of even the best slides.  That's not a photoshop. It's just a crop which retains the quality. Someone took a portrait photo of me recently with digital. When I zoomed in on my eyeball. I could actually see the reflection of the photographer in my eye. Amazing.
