Now that the JU-88 is otw, if HTC would produce the IL-2 and TU-2, we could actually have ourselves one helluva multi-event Eastern front scenario.

How about it, Pyro, are you looking at either of these two aircraft in the near future?

Good one.  But I'd pick the Pe-2 rather than the Tu-2, since the Petlyakov was out from the beginning of the war.

Or the IL-10, the late war up-engined version of the IL-2.

I think it would fit into our current arena much better.

But Leonid, the Tu-2 is such a nice plane.

I'd like to see them both, but I'd take the Tu-2 first.

Sissies, real men would want a TB-3
(I'd never fly it myself, it looks built to crash)

Yeah Tu-2 is a sweetie.  Pe-2 saw more action, but Tu-2 would be more useful with the current planeset.

Same for Il-10 vs. Il-2.  Both should be done, but I'd rather see the Il-10 first with all these uber-fighters buzzing around.

P.S.  Il-10 was based on Il-1 fighter prototype.  It wasn't much more powerful than Il-2, just smaller and lighter and better-integrated.

...and faster. My only concern is whether or not is saw any action. Its wartime production was low, though post-war it certainly made up for lost time...

Actually, later versions of the Pe-2 were faster than the Tu-2, but the Tu-2 did have a heavier payload.

Il-10 saw combat from February 45 through August 45.

The Il-10 is too good, it will unbalance the arena. You don't want this to become "Illyushins High" do you?

Ilyushins High.  Probably 'Ilyushins Low' would be more accurate, but I kinda like it

I think one of the funest squad nights I ever had in WB's, was the one where we made a mass Ju-87 attack.

If you have never seen a swarm of 18 or so Ju-87s armed with 37mm cannons and bombs coming to attack your base.....

Well, let me tell you it was a sight to behold.

Bring on the IL-10!!
