Honestly, while I am normally the first to look for a cheaper place, I would NOT trust an iPod from some cheap website. If you buy an iPod from a legit store (The apple store?) you will always have a service plan, etc. I've had to take two iPods in to be replaced (One video, one touch) and both times, no questions asked, they just swapped it out. I wouldn't trust a website to do that. For the price you're paying, the service is worth the extra $100.

It depends on if you want to play music or if you want it to do everything except be a phone.

There is something called MAP pricing...

In other words all of the legit stores should be within fiarly the same price range...

Bingo. I have an 8GB touch, (I WISH I had the 16...) and it is amazing. There is nothing it doesn't do for me, it even calculates fuel, weight and balance, time in flight, and files a flight plan via DUATS for me!

I bought an iPod classic 120GB because I'd rather have 120GB of digital media than 16GB of gimmicks. For less/the same amount of money at that.

While I love the iPod, I could never own a Mac computer. Just the way it works, on the most basic levels, are incompatible with my brain, making even the most simple task unendingly frustrating.

your brain must have gone all Microsoft on you :D Good for them hehe

I have the Touch 8gb too and use it as a music player , PDA and for games. Outstanding value, and its not often you can say that an apple product is CHEAP.

I bought it as a gadget mostly and used it alot at first. Then i used it abit less as the gadget factor wore off. After that period i have used it more and more as i have found the ammount of useful apps is amazing.
