Bf/Me 109 "real world" charts
« on: March 07, 2001, 11:13:00 PM »
I've seen some excellent performance graphs & charts for various a/c on this forum, but I've yet to find good charts on the 109.Does anyone here posess scanned performance graphs/charts for the 109 (G-6 to K-4 in particular)? I'd love to set my beady eyes on some ;?)

Here are finnish test charts of Bf 109 G-2.  I redraw these charts from the book "Lentäjän Näkökulma 2" - "Pilot's point of view 2", a book about the FAF WW2 fighters.

Pentti Kurkinen reminded that the figures were flown using the "30 minute" power setting of 1310hp. The figures reachable with the 1.42 ATA / 1470hp are unknown.
All the figures collected from German sources also only indicate the speeds attainable by using the continuous, or 30 minute power setting.  Thanks Pena!

In other words, the finns didn't use "WEP" on their engines, to prolong their life.

Camo,

You forgot to mention, that the figures you gave were flown using the "30 minute" power setting of 1310hp. The figures reachable with the 1.42 ATA / 1470hp are unknown.
All the figures collected from German sources also only indicate the speeds attainable by using the continuous, or 30 minute power setting.
