Private bet?
I say the Yak-9T is the sleeper this tour.
Fly this plane a bit and see what I mean

Flew it my very first sortie in 1.06.

Dropped right into the huge F1 to F19 furball at about 10:00PM EST.

I got 2 kills with my first 10 rounds of 37mm ammunition, and took a stray ping from a BnZ P-51 that disabled my hub cannon or I would have had several more (got 2 assists with MG after that I think).

Eventually I took a radiator hit and had to make a successful ditch near F19.

I didn't try any long range shooting, but I used it in up close in hard manuevering snapshots and it was very effective.

Basically a Spit V with a extremely deadly BFG

Nice gun, but I still want my Yak-9UT (even without the 37mm or 45mm options).

PS: I bet people respect Yak snapshots now       And the La7 is quite sweet too.

In my checkout fkight in the 9T I got into a looping fight between about 15,000 & 20,000 ft with a TA152 who eventualy ran for the safety of his nearby base (possibly low on fuel/ammo). As he the TA152 ran to his own base poor old Busc was taking off in his shiny new TA152 in the oposit direction (ie towards me). At an estimated speed of closure of 600mph I took Busc's wing off from a low 12 position with the 37mm (sorry again Busc) the 9U wouldn't have managed that.

Went on to do similar damage to A P51 in a high closure rate 6 o'clock before losing my radiator to an F6F, forgot it was slower than the 9U) had to ditch in enemy teritory.

Fun little plane =)
If you cna come in with an altitude advantage it's extremely deadly. Have to try it against arnour soon =)

I never thought of that... I bet it is a real HO BEAST.

Not that I really like HO attacks, but it will definitely put a crimp in the Tempest/Ta152 HO operations.

I had a blast in the Yak 9T last night. I blew the wing off of a Typhoon with one 37mm shell, and downed a Lanc with about six hits from my 37mm.

All in all, I'm impressed with the Yak 9T so far.

It took 6 shots from 37mm to kill a lanc? One could thing even one or two is enough.

Well, I couldn't really tell exactly how many hit the lanc, but I know it was more than 3. I fired off about 12 rounds, and some missed.

Lancs are very resistant to heavy cannon fire, ie 30mm and apparently 37mm now too, all WW2 reports more or less agreed that 2-3 hits of MK108 were good to kill any 4 engine bomber. Basically I think its HTC roadkill attempt to ofset the "weaker" defenseve armamnent of Lanc so the rutabagas (bomber pilots) dont cry too much- You know with how hard bombers are to fly and use nowadays- I mean all those hours they must spend to perfect their bomb aiming from 30k and all the work that goes into shooting the defensive guns.

Of course if you fired in a burst, with net lag you could see 50 hits before you see the damage.  In order to count how many hits "it took" before it was damaged, you would have to fire one shell, wait 3 seconds, and repeat.

Remember guys, before you hit him, he gets the damage, something falls off, and the server reports it to you, it can be a couple of seconds on a bad day.
