Phone company put in a new router

And the internet is slower then EVER. Youtube takes 5-10 minutes to load a 2 minute video...Any online game I play, the pings are through the roof. We had to replace it because it was blocking my dad out from his VPN at work. The router brand is BEC...I can't do much because I don't want to screw his connection again but is there anything I can try to make it faster?

Im not a router expert by any means...... but some things that come to my mind are the QOS settings which give priority to certain computers on the network....... or DMZ which will place a certain computer outside the routers firewall etc.......

Im sure some of the router experts may have some other suggestions...... or even skuzzard he knows routers in an out

What is the router brand / itemnumber ?

Talk with the telephone company and tell them to fix it
