Yes, you can copy the "settings" files from one to the other, but you have to find them first. This is the single biggest reason to get any application out of the "Program Files" folder.
Of course, when the industry has moved, en masse, from the "Program Files" folder we fully expect Microsoft to extend the atrocious grasp of UAC beyond the "Program Files" folder. They seem bent on stopping users from being able to have any direct control over their own computer systems.
