Try these settings.
I have an older computer (2002) but I have achieved
acceptable results using these settings. Here are my
system specs, screenshots of my settings and
also some captures of what I see in the game with those
settings. It gets me close to version 2.13 which is
just fine with me. If I can fly and die, I'm happy.
If you haven't already done so, please download and
examine the LCA Technical Bulletin that addresses
some of these settings and where to find them.

What I saw in the SEA for Coral Sea was nowhere near as good as this.

Finally, this is the water with reflections and shadows
that everyone seems to love. I was able to get this
screencap before the game reset my graphics to a lower
setting.
The 3rd patch was a great help. Other than not being
able to see the enhanced water effects, reflections
and having my detail set to distant, the game has been
well tweaked. My stutters are now gone for the most part.
I think these settings are a good compromise between
all the eye candy options because it allows me to
play the game; perhaps not in all the glory that HTC
had intended, but for the time being its fine.
What these settings result in is a very close approximation
to what the game was like before the new version so
if you are having trouble, give these a try and hold on
for more updates from HTC.
All that aside, my biggest issue now is disconnects.
The screen goes white and the Aces High title bar is present
but no game. After a few moments, the Microsoft error
box pops up asking to report the problem to MS.
So things are improving and I am ever hopeful. Maybe these
settings will similarly improve your game.
