I usually speed up and try to get to 66.7 quick before lightning strikes me haha.

with your above statement
Ano, out of curiousity what type of music do you listen to? I recall you saying most would never have heard of the bands you listen to.

Not trying to start anything just wondering,as I tend to agree with your above statement!Well maybe not the shoot myself part...... :devil

   :salute

Well, my opinion of 99% of what one hears on the radio is not shared by most..  I find most of the radio music mundane, washed down, watered down, dumbed down..  All the lyrics literally take on literal(yes, I meant to say it just like this) meaning as to appease the lemming-esque, spoon-fed masses..  No thinking goes into understanding them..  The structure of the music itself is entirely simplified as to keep the "fans" interested..  Most of the musicians themselves are sweetheart-bags and narcissistic corporate tools..  Nothing more..  Once that flavor is expired, you never hear from them again..    :D

Bands I listen to that most here have never heard of:
Kyuss-Probably my all time favorite band.
Sleep
High On Fire
Unida
Acid King
Orange Goblin
Disengage
Bongzilla
St. Vitus
The Melvins
Om

This is on the heavier side of things..

On the lighter side of things:
Kruder and Dorfmeister
Thievery Corporation
Sigur Ros
Slowdive
Morphine
Ween
Massive Attack
Failure
Juno

I'm no fan of any country artists that have come out in the last 20 years..

I'm no fan of hip-hop in any fashion..  One crowed is trying to exemplify that you are nothing if you don't have grillz and a Hummer with 8000 women with large arses paying too much attention to you, or the other crowd is trying so desperately to be different from anything else that all that stuff ends up sounding like everyone else trying to do the same thing..

I totally despise the Jam-Rock scene: the Dead, hate Phish, hate any of the stuff that's related..

I don't want to say I hate classic rock, but I definitely hate it that you never actually hear any of the good stuff on classic rock stations....Just the singles, like every other radio station out there...  When's the last time you heard a song like "Careful With That Axe Eugene" or Interstellar "Interstellar Overdrive" any radio station?

I would like to cast guys like Dave Matthews and bands like Cold Play out the nearest airlock..

My friends call me a music snob..  I'd say they're right....

Anyhow, there's my take on things music..  I'm sure others will have lots of nice things to say..   :lol

This is the issue I have with most modern rock music... most stuff is either obnoxious Jonas Brothers-esque 'manufactured' sounding pop rock or stuff that tries so hard to be different it all sounds the same and 'manufactured' in its own way.
To me at least.

+1
Music today is really... really bad.
You need to do some searching before you can even find a real band that creates real music now-a-days.

That's not out of the loop....I don't think your heavier stuff is that heavy....You may enjoy listening to the B...95bfm...google for a live stream and nothing commercial about this station... they offer a smorgasbord for your ears. Be warned you will hear naughty words.

I never said they were heavy..  I mean, they are, but they're not like Death Metal or Grindcore heavy..
And, what I mean by out of the loop is "what's popular"..

Checkin' out the station as we speak.. :rock
