HAD A customer here years ago. he said he designed the bumper systems on saturns. so i started asking him about the car.
the dude was so friggin clueless about cars, that i think my 9 year old neice could do more on my brothers car, than this dude could do on his own....as it turned out, he had a degree in enineering, and "didn't need to know" about any of the other systems.
i have another customer currently......brags that he;s a retired engineer, and that he knows that it's a sham when we tell people that they need to change their oil.
this he says as his 99 buick with a 3800 series 2 is out front tapping away. and as i had the 03 honda accord with the slipped timing chain resulting in close to $3k worth of work......because she never changed her oil.
when someone comes in and says "i'm an engineer" or "i used to be an engineer" so i know "this or that", i generally ask them to stop trying to embarrass themselves.
on the other hand, i know an electrical engineer.......probably one of the smartest people i know.
