For many people, AH is the ultimate fantasy arena, where anyone can play 'what if'. P-51 attacks P-51, and a La-7 can fly wing with a Bf 109G-10 against Spitfires and N1K2s. However, for a few people, historical realism tugs at them, and though they play along with the 'anything goes' environment they never feel quite comfortable with it all. It just has no significance.
Some people have found that by flying what was historical for their own side helps to give the game some validity, and that missions formed along historical lines with proper escort types and bomber types go a long way in helping to create a sense of historical immersion that normally is lacking.
Unfortunately, even this halfway measure is only possible for three of the six nations represented in AH: USA, Commonwealth, and German(Sorry, Camo, I lumped the Finns in with the Germans). Players of Italian, Japanese, and Soviet aircraft are strictly limited to fighter operations, because they all lack bombing-capable aircraft. I hope that HTC will give serious thought to this issue, and be in favor of creating bomber aircraft for these three nations. Just a single bomber for each nation would go a long way toward helping historical squads conduct missions that had some sort of historical feel in the MA, and could help expand on their contributions to the neverending conflicts of that arena.
