Night in the MA
« on: August 09, 2009, 03:46:38 PM »
I have been reading numerous threads about night in the main arenas with some saying we need it and some saying we have tried it before and it didnt work out and that HTC has said that it would never happen again.  Just out of curiosity does anyone know why it supposedly didnt work out?

At dusk, most did log off.

Because you can't see anything.

Actually, you can. Which defeats the purpose. Though no more than disabling external skins and jumping in a tank.

Not true.

in the arena settings there is ColorLightNight and if you move the sliders all to the right you get the appearance of night time but it is pretty much as clear as the day.

ran many a special event like that and most players loved it.

Be awesome if they added radar carrying planes. I believe the f6 had radar late in the war and a version of the P38 (P61?)

Radar range for a radar equipped aircraft is just about the same as vis. icon range we have now.  Turn off nme icons at night?

Make icons a neutral white untill half of the normal viz range, then it displays which country it's from.

Hitech himself came in and said "most of our sibscribers logged off, so night won't be coming back" to paraphrase, during one of the many MILLIONS of reiterations of this stupid request.

WELL......\

that about solves it then.

if people were logging out, and/or canceling due to this, then i'd get rid of it too.
