Cable Management Part III
« on: August 11, 2009, 05:40:22 PM »
So Thursday I go to use my DVD burner and no dice, the laser went on it.    I pop an old Burner in and it works.   So, I decide to bite the bullet and get a new DVD Burner.

I get a Sony/NEC Optiarc AD-7241S-0B from newegg.   According to reviews all over the web, it's a good burner and it's SATA.

I purchased a 6" Black SATA connector for my Raptor and got rid of the gaudy blue one.   I also bought a 24" SATA for the Sony.

I will now buy some solid sleeving and use that instead of the lone cord wrap on the bottom and move that closer to the MB.

Which computer case is that? A very small inlet fan on the front-end.

X-Cruiser.   2 80's intake front, top and side 80 exhaust.   Rear 120 exhaust.    Case is typically cold.   Just tidying it up until I get a different case in the future.

I may take a dremel and stick a 120 up front in the next month or so.

It looks like an Aspire/Apevia case. Mine's older, has a flat acrylic door and a single temp sensor on the front. I built Erika a computer with a case like this, but they all seem to use the same internals.

(Well, he beat me to it. :D)

You guys are sick, there's no wires sticking all over the please  .  I wont trust a computer without lots of wires held together with ducktape, it leads me to believe that you work on your computer without a beer in hand   :lol.  nice work :aok
