Apple has never claimed this in a million years. Find me a quote where they say they are better for gaming than PC. Most high end games cannot even run on a Mac, although that is because they have not been designed for them.

I have a Macbook, and wouldn't even dream of playing any form of top end game. Certainly if you want to play AH, you need to get a PC. HTC hasn't designed AH for OS X, although you can get around this by using Bootcamp to run Windows on Mac.

How does receiving flies with a Microsoft attachment work out for you? I'm thinking about getting an Apple laptop and I'm concerned about this. I do a lot of reports, ratio sheets , and presentations. Does apple have the equivalent to a Microsoft office application?

Yes, I have Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac (the actual name) , and it works perfectly for me with every program (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc).

Used my Macbook last year at an all PC college, and had no problems whatsoever opening any Microsoft Office document/file.

You can buy it relatively inexpensively online. Would highly recommend it to you.

Which do you guys think is better, apple or dell. For me Dell is better. Apple says it is better for gaming, and all that stuff, but I am in doubt, and that price tag is kinda disturbing. Also apple is kind confusing, and almost none of my stuff works with it. Have any of you noticed that ipod's don't really like any computers but mac's? Some people say mac's don't get viruses, and my theory is that no one bothers to create a virus for apple computers. I bet some of apple's workers use Dell computers, and paid for them.

I've run AHII on both - indeed, recently transitioned over to a Mac for game play. I'd say go Mac. My Mini - which was only about $900 sans accessories, handled the update with no issues. Generally, I've found it to be a rocking little machine with fabulous graphics capabilities.

The only downside: You need to run Bootcamp with AHII. This enables you to set up a windows partition on the Mac. You then have to load windows (your choice what level) to that partition and it will have all the problems Windows normally has. As for compatibility issues with Windows SW, there are none, provided you run a Windows partition. I also run a Virtual Machine partition with windows because that's a way to run windows in the Mac environment itself. However, you DO NOT want to run AHII on VMWare.

I've had at least 1 Mac (right now 2) and typically anywhere from 1 to 5 PCs in the house (differing brands, desktops & laptops) at any given time over the last two decades and have always found that Macs to be better (more reliable, more friendly), though at a cost.

IMHO - Mac is the eye candy OS, also good for designing (Adobe products)

PC is the workhorse.

I run AH on this iMac Corduo that has bootcamp installed. Never had any issues, frame rate is always relatively solid (recent patch screwed with it a lil, but patches have sinced fixed that). Macs are very reliable in terms of anti-spyware/anti-virus. I have a Mac desktop in my room as well (Corduo, but does not have bootcamp installed), and I never have any issues with it. It runs Eve online very well.

Its just another option.

I agree. My friend got an apple said he hated it, then got a windows computer and he said it was a nice little machine.

Does anyone here use linux (probably murdered the spelling)?

Linux is ok...there are a few commercial games ported for it...but most games require wine or another emulator...doesn't work as well as a Mac with bootcamp or parallels installed.

The one thing you have to watch for by using a Mac for Windows games is hardware acceleration for the video card...doesn't always happen the right way.

I used to dual boot Ubuntu (a Linux Distribution). It's a bit more... eh, complicated I guess? Than Windows, but I'd much rather use that than a Mac.

Do Mac's have right click yet, btw?

My brother-in-law is a Mac Genius who thinks all PCs are trash.  He's very proud of the Apple products he supports.  But, hehe...  Every day he goes to work where there is a line of people reaching all the way through the store.  These people are waiting to get tech support on their Macs.

So.. to me that means, computers are computers, the same types of things go wrong on any machine.  But with Apple, there is a single source for service and products.  For PCs there is an open and competitive market.

At to iTunes... On my PC it's a resource hog, as is QuickTime.

I can run AcesHigh II on my $200 Dell with a $70 graphics card.  Why spend the $$$ for a piece of fruit?
