frame freeze

Ever since new patch, the game freezes every few seconds. Frame rate show between 2 and 65, but no matter what frame rate, still freezes for seconds at a time.  Before patch, everything seemed fine.  Steady frame rate no freezes.  Any suggestions?

Sound card, new vid driver, check Dxdiag and make sure hardware acceleration is no more than 3/4. Make sure that only the minimum number of processes are running in the background.

I have to say, knock on wood I'm running very smooth with FPS pegged at 60.
