After all the hype I saw it last night and honestly, except for some of the special effects i thought it was awful.

It's a safe bet that an adult film called District 69 is in the works.  :)

Considering the name of the main alien was Christopher Johnson... I bet you're right  :devil

ps... i love this movie

I rented it. It was decent. The whining got to me a bit. But then again if I was in that poor fellows shoes I would do more than whine. Still a good Sci-fi movie worth seeing. I'd give it a 7.5 on a 10 scale.

Tell you what I really enjoyed. Here you had a somewhat soft man coming rising above himself to answering the call. I don't know how else to put it with out giving the movie away. Like others I thought it had a taste of Cloverfield in it. I didn't look but I wonder if it was the same director as Cloverfield.

Rented it...ok movie. The whining got to me too...little weasel bureaucrat did something stupid and had to face the music. It never explained how the humans learned the language of giant locusts and vice versa...it's not like the humans could converse with dolphins and whales too.

:aok  :aok  :aok is about all I would give it...and did I smell a sequel at the end?

You said it better than I, "Weaselly bureaucrat."

As far as Cloverfield goes it was left so open that I didn't know it ended.

Yeah I'm hoping that we get a squeal to Cloverfield, or even a prequel, do a movie about where it came from or something like that.

You should be taken out and shot in the head. Or forced to watch said sequal over and over and over with breaks of blair witch project in between showings.

What, I'd like to see something about where it came from, there was an online viral video made by the production company that had to do with a girl that was dating a guy who left to Japan to do some secret work, there were about 9 videos and in one he sends her a package and tells her not to open it unless something bad happens, so it seemed like they were setting it up for a prequal to find out just how this thing came to be.

That whole shakey cam thing just blew it for me. I didnt even think it was a good movie. Another one that blew chunks was Paranormal Activities. I watched that and thought to my self " Crap.Thats a chunk of time I will never get back in my life."

Paranormal Activity I only made it about half way through, and I didn't like Blair Witch, but I really like Cloverfield, I thought it was a good movie.

I thought Wikas Van De Merwe was a hilarious character...reminded me of the guy from The Office.  Typical Afrikaans version though.  He was great.  The hardass military type's name was Cobus...couldn't be anything but Afrikaans.

Mash has it right...the whole movie was a play on District 6 which was in Cape Town during apartied.
