Fool, what good would a night-fighter bring into play?
In AH? Since the radar systems they used wouldn't be modeled and we don't have true night in AH, all they would bring is, in some cases, a variant of an existing plane but with cannons (F6F-5N is an example, it would have 20mm cannons).
However, in real life they brought a lot to the table. They were able to use their radar to search for surface targets. Night fighters were also typically more heavily gunned than regular fighters and carried cannons (at least for the United States). Often, night fighters would lead day light raids, aquire the target on their radar and lead the attack for the regular fighters.
The above picture is a flight of Hellcats preparing to take off the Ticonderoga to hit targets in Manila Bay (Jan. 9, 1945). As you can see, the two lead planes are F6F-5Ns, the night fighter variant of the Hellcat. They would typically lead such flights as they could use their radar to aquire targets.
Here is a flight of P-61C Blackwidows on a day time mission in the PTO. By this time, the Blackwidow didn't have any targets to intercept at night and were used in daylight interdiction missions.
