m4 sherman
« on: August 17, 2009, 11:59:50 PM »
Primary armament:    75 mm M3 L/40 gun, 90 rounds
Secondary armament:    .50 cal Browning M2HB machine gun (300 rounds),
2 × .30-06 Browning M1919A4 machine guns (4,750 rounds)
Engine:   Continental R975 C1 gasoline
400 hp (298 kW) gross at 2,400 rpm
350 hp (253 kW) net at 2,400 rpm
Transmission:    Manual, 5 forward and 1 reverse gear
Suspension:   Vertical Volute Spring Suspension (VVSS)                           Speed:   38.5 km/h (25 mph)                                                                       Weight:    30.3 tonnes (66,800 lb)
Length:    5.84 m (19 ft 2 in)
Width:    2.62 m (8 ft 7 in)
Height:    2.74 m (9 ft)                                                                     Armor:The frontal thickness was 76 mm for the gun mantlet, 64 mm for the turret front, and 51 mm for the front of the hull.I can't find the side and rear armor thickness, but I think it's 1 inch thick for the side and rear.                          Number built:    48,000. I think the m4 Sherman would be a great addition to AcesHigh2 because it was the workhorse for the American military in World War II. It was used to take out enemy infantry, structures, mortar, machine gun pits, light, and medium tanks.    Sorry it jumped around. I am a little bit lazy to fix the issue.

There sure are a lot of M4 requests. It's surprising with all this positive attention that it hasn't been put in yet.
Six .50 cals is all you need.
But cannons are nice.

Firefly has a bigger gun

Firefly has better armor

Sherman has a .30 cal in the hull

Yeah, I'd definatley pick a regular M4 over a Firefly (NOT)

You have to understand that Hitech Creations is a very small company... I think only HiTech, Pyro, Superfly and Waffle (and Sudz maybe?) are involved in the creation of new models.

The Firefly was upgraded by the British with a 17 Pounder main gun.
The standard American Sherman has a much less effective main gun.

Incorrect.  The Firefly's armor is no different than a contemporary Sherman.

The Sherman would be a nice choice and something I would fight in. If not, then some other not perk tank would be nice.

Definitely vote "Yes" to the standard M4. The Firefly is inappropriate for a LOT of scenarios and FSO matchups that require the M4.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Someone requested something?  To add to the game?

Looks like another "Copy and Paste some stats" post.
