Only thing I'm having real trouble with is the propeller placements, looks a little out of place.
I'm no artist (can't even draw a straight line, much less a perfect circle) so I might be wrong. it does look a little off to me.
the prop placement seems to be fine, the smudge showing motion should be arcing in a circular radius <not sure if I'm saying it right, hope you know what I mean>. the actual prop lines should be straight, maybe.

maybe someone who is an artist can post an example sketch of a prop in motion for you to look at.

Currently working on F4U, having a LOT of trouble with the bent wing. Just can't seem to make it right...

Edit:

I can get the cockpit and everything right, the damn wing is really hard, because I have to make it thinner, so it looks just like a thinner wing

I gave up on drawing a Corsair in Bio in my Freshman year. :frown: All because of those wings. After that, I finished up the year trying to make biplanes and Gloster Gladiators.

been an artist my whole life, takes lots a practice to get where you want, but when you do, you will find that you can go further.

my best advise is don't give up.

I did this about 5 years ago in pencil.
you should get a set of drawing pencils 2-H,3-H,6-H those are for outlining,2-B,4-B,6-B,are for shading, and thick smooth paper "strathmore" is a good brand.100 weight

its not so much shadows as texture. look at how the P40 in Ink's pic has depth back to the tail due to combination of shadow and texture, getting darker and less detailed the further away you look. Much harder to envoke depth with a line drawing even with some rough shadows. You got the shape really well, the two wings looking equal is the hardest for me. If you want that to look more real without filling it all in you would have to make the shadows 100% perfect to convey the 3d shape.

Your 109 and 1Plus' P40 would look good fighting each other. Scrap that Betty it sucks (sorry 1 plus :D)

I didn't think it was too bad, especially for an afternoon's work.  I say that at least he's putting a pencil to paper, and that's a lot more than most people do.  It's a very good start if you ask me.

Ink, I really dig that pic man, great job!  Outstanding light reflections from the water's surface, nice touch.

KgB, really good stuff too!

Nicely done. Another addition to that list - shading stick. To me it helps with shading...a bit cheating, but still.

If anyone would like to sample my art, I got some posted here: http://xbrooklynx.deviantart.com/

Here's a couple of my aircraft drawings:
"Spitfire of 417"
I actually got this one signed by Charlie Fox himself. I had crap pencil crayons, using mostly Crayola but some good Laurentiens. Pencil crayon, 8x11" white office paper

"Under Death's Shadow...
I drew this representation of a photo I once saw in a national geographic for a gr 11 art project. I used mostly 2B for this, but had some 6B as well. Graphite, 8x11" white office paper.

EDIT: Edited links.

Nice work, a couple things stand out to me though.  The elevators should be horizontal, as they are now they appear a bit tilted, the prop is a bit short, and the air intake's angle is a bit off.  It should flow from the fuselage itself.

Ex)

Keep it up though!
