Hey Guys.

Was in a book store this weekend and found a newly published Ta-152 Book. Originally published in German, with the Title: Focke-Wulf Ta152: Der Weg zum Hohenjager, its now in english as......

Title: Focke-Wulf Ta-152, The story of the Luftwaffe's Late-War, High Altitude Fighter.
Author: Dietmar Harmann
ISBN: 0-7643-0860-2

I bought it for $35 US, but you can probably get it cheaper online.

This book is outstanding. It contains information on each of the different variants, developement history, and alot of engineering data on this aircraft.

Flight test data, engine output, armament options, everything you could want. Including many original luftwaffe test documents in German.

It also has some good data on the D9 and the D12/13 (which I have never seeen before) which it uses for comparison purposes.

One thing that suprised me is that in many cases the low altitude performance is actually worse than the 190D9.

If your a Focke-Wulf 190 fan, this book is a must.

Don't particularly like FWs, but do like latewar birds... it's available from Barnes & Noble for $24.50.  (minus the copy I've ordered already).

Looks like I'll have to add another book to my collection.

Was looking at some pictures of  FW 190 D's yesterday.  How about a D 11 with five cannons???? The caption on the picture said the motor cannon was not fitted to this example.  But 5 cannons possiable.  Would just love to get my hands on that bird and go hunt some F4U's.

  see ya on line

Right Combat, thats similar to one of the armament options on one of the Ta-152 variants.

Either a Mk108 30mm or Mk103 hi-velocity 30mm firing thru the spinner, plus x4 MG151 20mm cannons.

Or a Mk103 hi-velocity 30mm firing thru the spinner, x2 MG151 20mm cannons inboard on the wings, plus x2 Mk108 30mm's cannons outboard on the wings (pods), plus x2 MG151 15mm's mounted above the engine. (Talk about a Buff buster)

And several others. I will try to post some of them later.

Hell SnakeEyes....

You ever seen a C-130 have to do a "popup" over a dropzone to get above a 50ft tree? I have   Hehehe our airbase here is named after Chuck Yeager, and our pilots try to live up to the reputation.

In fact I was standing on the bed of the DZ truck (GM pickup truck) and I could literally almost touch the bottom of the aircraft as it passed over us.

If that ain't barnstormin, I aint never seen it.

Yep you guessed it, I'm just one more dumb hillbilly hehehe

Stop by sometime and I will show you the bridge that Chuck Yeager flew the P-51D under, amazing

Can't do that in Detroit... the C-130 would get shot down.
