Funny feelings..Stormbirds
« on: August 25, 2009, 10:50:19 AM »
Lately Ive been having this feeling the Bish and Nits have been using GVs, flak, and air power much more effectively together. I check the stats and see this tour the K/D pf the IL2 has dropped to 0.96, the first time Ive seen it below 1.00 since the update. Tour 114 was 1.09%, 113-1.14%, 112-1.10%, 111-1.17%, 110-1.07%, 109-1.09%, 108-1.09%, 107-1.15%, 106-1.11%, 105-1.11%, 104-1.06%. Even before the update I'll bet it had better K/Ds then 1.00%.

For days Ive had this feeling in the back of my head that I was seeing much more skilled defenses against the Stormbirds. Funny how the stats often support these impressions as one buzzs thru a tour.

Anyway well done to the GV'ers, flak'ers, and supporting fighters. :salute

Well if you think about it...  Operating a Wirble is probably the closest thing to an arcade style game that we have in AH2...  And we are at the tail end of another squeeker summer...

So, the Playstation Generation has had all summer to hone their skills, and it is beginning to show.  :D

Is it them being more effective, or them being in Wirbles killing squeakers who think their 37mm's "pwnzor all"

Ship gunner bro, just like the old Missile Command.

You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

I think its players using combined arms more effectively. Some of it is a couple of the maps haven't been real good for Stormbird sticks. That pizza map seems to only have spawns into your own bases. :huh So now you have to upp them and fly them alone to another base, which leaves them vulnerable.

And also, In other words, less Lone Rangers spawning tanks and coming in alone. I'm also seeing more and more fighters picking the IL2s and taking the high ground away from them. Better flak coverage. Instead of %80 or %90 upping tanks now you see %60 or %70 upping tanks and the rest WWs.

And its been paralleled by less sniveling and whining here in the forum about the IL2s.

In general it appears players have learned how to fight against them. I see more and more cons going right into the vertical against them now.

Now its down to 0.94.

No doubt tonights battle for A1 caused that.

Boy that was tough Stormbird air. Made even worse by the Presence of Tiger-1s, which make any good commie IL2 drivers eyes go beady with greed. :O I managed all of one Tiger there and had to come down in a straight 90% dive to get him cause he was surrounded by a ring of WWs. :uhoh

I'll trade an IL2 for a Tiger. I guess.
