The fact that he did not give this canned response is one of the reasons I like HiTech :aok

Understood but if you are relatively new to this as I was it covers the groujd better than I am not going to help you because you are being rude and offensive.

It's the 3rd paragraph... specifically these parts:

And

Perhaps your right and I am too thick skinned but I would tend to concentrate on answering the points rather than being offended because they are unfair demonstrably. Its obviously how he is feeling though and from the heart it would seem.

Maybe if you do it just opens the floodgates to a mass of unjustifed accusations. I dont know the community that well but its good to see people rise above these sort of tit for tat exchanges.

Yarbles.

You believe it is perfectly fine to attack HTC but it is not acceptable to attack a different person.  You do not not consider that it could be that I have very valid reasons for point out some peoples bad behaviors.

Appologies if I am giving the wrong impression. I dont think its acceptable though I am not sure its a serious atack here. What I am saying is the response if its in the same vain is not what I would consider the best way to deal with this from a practical or moral perspectiove.

Probably not from your standpoint but look at the number of dweeb outburst posts like the OP posted just in the past month. It gets tiresome, especially when people use the intardnet as an excuse for bad behavior. When was the last time you bought something that broke and went back to where you bought it and started ranting to the store manager or customer service rep? Having dealt with people live in retail for a number of years I can tell you, people are very much better behaved when they aren't hiding behind the anonymity of the phone or intardnet...even when you tell them to piss off.

No matter how you slice it or try to justify it the OP was way off base on not only the title of his post but the content as well....just like the other idiot thread that took a direct stab at HiTech trying to tell him how to run his business. As you can see by other responses here, HiTech was much nice than many others would have been.

I am beggining to think you must have already modified this post or am I way off here.

Whats so offensive?

Hes obviously a bit upsett but really

I am a service provider and I would have said:

"I understand your concerns and we are working on further up dates, please bare with us and I am sure all these issues will be resolved. In future could you E mail with your individual problems and issues and we will do our best to help you. Thanks for your continuing patience and support"

Do you not think that it is time to take this to HTC through email?

Directly questioning a business in a public forum is counterproductive.

Though this may not be your intention, and I'm sure it's not, airing things like this out in the forum makes you appear as though you are trying to 'rally support' and team up on the company. Given that this particular issue is directly focused on a member of staff, it's entirely reasonable for this to be viewed as something of an adversarial approach.

This means that the company will be on the back foot when responding to you and this means you will never get the answers you're looking for.

If you have an issue with HTC's conduct, take it to them through private means.

Who knows what might happen then? They might, for example, be able to sit back in the cold light of day and come to agree with you in that setting. In this case, I like the way they've not put up with crap, but it's not impossible that they come around to your way of thinking if you present a good enough argument in private.

That will not happen here because the company will always be on the defensive.

Whilst you're not rude and carrying on like a brat like the OP, you're not resolving your issue in the most appropriate manner. You seem to have a brain, Yarbles.... you know what the right thing to do is.

And really.... if you think about it logically, now that you've openly questioned a member of staff in public, what's he going to think of you if you ever need to contact them for help? HT is only human, he's not some cyborg purveyor of WWII sim goodness. I know I don't bend over backward for customers who give me the chits or make life harder than it needs to be.

I don't treat them badly or stop providing the service, but I certainly don't give them my all. For my good customers, I go the extra mile. I'll stay back after hours, I'll come in on my days off, I'll deliver their goods personally, in my own car. I work hard for the people who treat me well and in turn, they work hard for me. They bring me more business and offer assistance in their fields. For example, one of my customers is going to swing by in his mate's Lamborghini Murcielago next time he's back in Melbourne.  That's how business works.

Help is a two-way street. People are people, they're not impartial wizards of the business world.

If you want the best service you have to be on the best terms with the business. That's how life is and that's how business is. It's not about sucking up, either. It's about being genuine and doing the right thing by the people you deal with in either the customer or employee/owner role.

---

With that, I am going to withdraw from this thread. The OP has been lashed more than enough and nothing else good will come of this.

If anyone feels the need to respond directly to what I've said, feel free to PM me. I'll be happy to continue the conversation there.

I have to say, and I really hate to as I have Been a faithfull AH player for what, almost 8 years now I think...   But this has to be the worst deployed update to AH I have encountered....

I don't want to speak ill of the HTC crew because usually I find that they try very hard to please everyone and usually do a great job of it but this time I think the update was released before it was really ready.  I expected problems with my graphics card when they said an update was coming and sure enough it was not good enough to play AH then my Brother gave me a new one that seemed to work fine but wouldn't work with the new graphics.  I really didn't care if I had to play with just Bump mapping on and no extra graphics as long as I could fly and enjoy the game but now with the latest patch I can now turn on the improved graphics but get full 1 to 2 second freezes every 30 seconds to a min.  I thought things were working fine if I just play with the improved graphics off and it ran fine and getting anywhere from 56 to 24 FR when I dove in from 15K over a smoking base and my comp locked up..  Almost had to shut down but managed to wait it out and just kill AH.

Then later I was 20K in 24's and had a guy in a 109 ram me and I get a total lock up again....

I have never had AH behave so badly before in the years I have played it...   I know HTC is trying to fix issues with it but it just feels like there wasn't enough testing before release.

Again I really do think that HTC does a good job but this feels rushed... Btw  the water works fine here.. :)

I don't mean any hostility with this question but, did you test out the beta version?  If not, you are in the same noah's ark sized boat that most everyone else is in.  I think HTC solved everything they could with their small band of beta testers before they decided the next step was to launch it.  I'm willing to bet by launching it when they did, they have been able to improve it ten times as fast as they would have been able to if it was still in 'beta'.

All makes sense what you are saying though I didnt raise these questions for my own sake specifically. I am generally very impressed with the culture here but not so when it seems so impatient with the lets say undiplomatic for whatever reason and resoponds in kind. There seems to be allot of irritability derrision particularly for the young and inexperienced which maybe makes this enviroment harder than necessary to grow up in.

That is the general culture and not specifically High Tech. The most inflamatory and abussive terms seem to be used in defence of HTC generally and not by the company but by what i have called the stakeholders. I dont know if it applies in this case and as I said maybe this is necessary to hold back the floodgates. Is it surpising though some young people are a bit half baked when we have so little patience or desire to be understanding.

Hurrah! And Tally ho!

I have a brand new gaming pc bought by my wife because of new version of game :x.
Over the past couple of months I have been getting poor frame rate, disco, etc.
There has been no official response from Aceshigh in regards to these problems because we are being used as testers for the game, this time next year all the problems will have been forgotten.
I personally don't require any excuses from anyone, if it is that bad I will go some where else.
By the way (+) Precision squad is the best squad in the game and we should be able to fly for free for a whole year :x

Yarbles.

I just have a few simple questions.

1. When were you promoted to my Board Of directors?
2. When have you ever been my friend.
3. How many of your customers meet each other every day.
4. How many BBS system have you run.
5. Have you always thought you should be able to give advice on topics you know very little about.
6. Do you always not read other peoples post, and just continue to say the same thing over and over and over.
7. Have you always been so judgmental of people.
8. Do you have even an the smallest of ideas that I can not leave this BBS and you can just walk away at any time.
10. Do you always argue points that you are completely clueless about.
11. Why do you think it is any way sociably acceptable, parented or wanted by HTC for you to post advice on how to run our buisness.
12. Do you think that in most social circles it is considered bad behavior to try tell people who to run there business?
13. Did you stay in a Holiday in express last night.

And now consider 1 point, how many complaints have been made of things in the last week few weeks, years and decades,  how many people of these complaints have I jumped on.Is there a possible pattern and reason I jump on these people. Are you really so myopic that you think I am thin skinned?
