I just wonder how many of you whiners even bothered to enter the beta to see how it would work with your system. If you were too lazy to take a few and check things out......

SHADDAP!!

You had a chance to be proactive. You chose to sit on your lazy fanny and let others do it for you. Guess what? That was a mistake....YOUR mistake. Grow up.

Now in SOME (very few) of those "whiners" defense, I've had squaddies say that they were able to run beta fun, but when it went live, it ran like crap. But I will say 90% of the whiners should have went to the beta or tech support forum to post their issues, as long as they had merit.

Hooch, you are the dumbest person on this forum and a perfect example of the kind of bananas who give decent Americans a bad rep. Your comments in the VJ day thread only were proof enough of that.

I'd say that the person who decides what sort of speech is appropriate here is the owner of the company. What do you reckon?

You have the hide to stroll in here and run your mouth like a snot-nosed little teenage princess and call it 'free speech'? You need a good slappin'.

This is a discussion board for a business. It is not a forum for 'free' speech.

You are communicating within a controlled environment that exists for business purposes.

Like I said, 'freedom of speech' isn't licence to be a bell-end. Particularly not when it's on the forum of a private company.

I might be toeing the line here and if I'm deemed to be out of line, so be it.... but someone had to say it.

If you have a problem with the service you're getting, conduct yourself in a reasonable manner. Don't expect to carry on like a teenage girl and get what you want.

With any luck, HTC will continue to tell the people who start threads like this to go to hell.

A complaint is one thing, conduct is another.

From my experience when a company delivers a product and the customer slams them for its poor quality, its the companies fault, every single time.

This seems to be the first exception to that rule that I have come across.

Although I respect Hitech for having the patience to create and maintain this game, I cannot agree with his pompous conduct of pissing on customers that have legitimate complaints, on a General Discussion forum. This complain, by definition fits in with General Discussion.

I have even less respect for those who come in and piss on them also, even thought it doesn't really involve them. Do you think it will make you look good by doing so? Surely, it might to persons of your own caliber.

I would expect the creators of this game to take these complaints in stride. Their emotional response proves the original posters point.

I dont think this is an example of a good American.

Bwahahaha. I'm Australian.

I just thought I would quote this in its entiriy again as an exampe of someone criticising someone elses conduct, by being rude offensive sexist and obviously too ignorant to see that for themselves.

Co incidently (or is it) they seem to think the solution is violence to improve someone elses verbal conduct. A "good slap" if there is such a thing would really win the argument for me eh. I dont think this is an example of a good American.

I'm not being rude or offensive. I'm calling it as it is.

'Slap' is a metaphor for 'lesson'. It's not about violence at all. Read between the lines, please.

It's not about 'winning' an argument, it's about people's self-absorbed attitudes and thinking they can say whatever they like, then hide behind the 1st amendment.

There is no excuse for it and they should be called out at every turn.

I'm a proud Australian and we don't hold back on fools.

How do you live with yourself :rofl

By abusing others I suppose

Seriously though read you post again and try to grasp:

"Dumbest"

"Snot nosed teenage princess"

"Conduct yourself in a reasonable manner"

By reasonable you mean exchange insults I assume.

What I find difficult about women sometimes is that there arguments sometimes seem to be internally inconsistent but actually this can be equally true of men apparently.

You talk about good conduct and being reasonable but you dont seem to be able to live up to your own standards.

You talk about fools but a true fool is typified by self delusion. Do you think you are being reasonable and conducting yourself in a way that sets good examples for others

I think the average teenage girl or boy could understand this can you?

From my experience when a company delivers a product and the customer slams them for its poor quality, its the companies fault, every single time.

And why does the customer have the right to "slam" the company/developer ?

As it has been said many times in this thread ... there is nothing wrong with pointing out problems and deficiencies, but the way one "points" out these problems and deficiencies is another thing. The customer does not have the right to be rude and condescending ... period ... if they are, then expect some of it in return.

"Legitimate complaints" concerning the new version and/or patch have forums for such ...  "Aces High Bug Reports" and "Technical Support".

They really don't have a place in the General Discussion Forum unless of course the poster wants to draw as much attention to themselves ...

LOOK AT ME, I AM HAVING A PROBLEM, I'M PISSED, AND I WANT SOME ATTENTION AND HOPEFULLY SOME SUPPORT FROM OTHER MEMBERS ON THE BBS AND I AM GOING TO BE RUDE AND CONDESCENDING BECAUSE I AM THE CUSTOMER AND I HAVE THE RIGHT.

... rather than, in a more calm matter, create a post in the correct forum describing the problem and being willing to provide information to help solve their problem.

Or should I just tell you that, since the latest update has a few glitches, some of your clientele are being unreasonable, and you have seen fit to belittle them from your all-powerful perch, the principles of software testing, customer service, and public relations are totally beyond your comprehension?

I think the updates and new version from a technical point of view is handled very well. I would say the technical side of customer service is very good too. If there is a weakness it is from a public relations and personal service point of view. Unfortuntaely strong technical and personal skills rarely occur side by side in my experience.

However I would rather it all worked sooner than I got loads of appologies and re assurance but had to wait longer for the best outcome.

Its a good (not perfect) compromise having a salamanderly competant Htc over a cuddly incompetant one

Kurwa, Saantana!  :aok

I must disagree that customer is always right. Complaints are entirely reasonable given the scope of the changes made recently and the problems caused.... but there is a way to go about making such complaints and so few of them have been made in a respectable manner.

I am not here to 'look good' by pissing on the complainers... I am here to call out knobs who see it as their 'right to free speech' to hurl criticism in an manner that is not constructive.

You and I have always seen eye-to-eye in the game, so I'm sure you can understand that I'm not here to make unnecessary comments.

I am just annoyed by childish complaints passed off as 'critiques of the game'.

Respect is due where respect is given.

Respect given in this thread is lacking, hence the responses.

You are right in pointing out that there are better places to post such complaints. The manner in which they are posted is also important, and it can be debated whether this one was borderline inappropriate.

That being said in my experience when a customer starts complaining the company providing the service usually holds their breath, and without being offensive (even if the customer is) deals with the situation at hand in the proper manner.

KillerT5 was obviously frustrated past the point of following the suppliers rules and posted his complaint here to gain more impact. The suggested appropriate response would be to point out the best forum for it, and/or move the thread into the appropriate forum, without an emotional response.

My reply again can be attacked by stating that I am not one to tell anyone how to run their business, but that again will be inappropriate yet sadly expected, as that would be stating the obvious.

Kurwa!

See you in the skies mates, <S>

Of course, mate, of course.

I can understand that companies might be inclined to take criticism, however infantile, in good grace... but I can sympathise with HTC not putting up with bullchit of the likes displayed in this thread.

Customer service is important.... but telling rude knobs where to go is also something to be valued.

I suspect that a better response (from both company and customer) would have been received if the complaint was lodged in a respectful manner and that is the whole idea.

You make a good point though, Saantana.

I look forward to winging with you again soon, mate.

I would expect the creators of this game to take these complaints in stride. Their emotional response proves the original posters point.

I think they will begin to at some point and certainly should the company grow they will. HTC is very good at rectifying grievences but lacks finnese when it comes to dealing with the complainant.

Our aussie friend spends allot of effort justifying being rude and offensive to people who whe considers rude and offensive. He may realise that rude and offensive behaviour rarely commands respect and instantly loses the moral high ground even if it is in response to a percieved injustice.

Being an Aussie is no excuse for acting in an ignorant and uncivilised manner nor is being a company director ;)
