Favorite German Bomber
« on: August 26, 2009, 02:55:55 PM »
This includes dive bombers as well. I have always been a big fan of the Heinkel He-111.
Six .50 cals is all you need.
But cannons are nice.

I like the Heinkel when it doesn't have Merlins :D

I think the He 111 and the Do 17 are probably the best looking bombers ever. :rock

heinkel will be good for the BofB scenario and early war.  I would like to see the dornier 217 and the TU-2 added as a pair.  hell throw in the betty for the japs and this lot will give the Bomber groups loads to play with.

moot,

That one is pretty, but for ones that actually saw service, I think the Ju188 is gorgeous.

Not to put down your thoughts, but do you think people will fly in it?  The Ju-88 only has a strong following as a torpedo bomber, which as far as I know, He-111s and Do-217s were not used in service with torpedo's.  I have my doubts, even the tardiest of tards prefer a B-26 or B-25 instead of the Ju-88, what reason would they have to fly the He-111 or Do-217?

Other than the Lancaster, the Ju-88 is the only plane in the game that can reliably take out six hangers.

Used effectively, under clear skies, the Ju-88 is a work horse in the AH2 bomber world.
