i can just see the whole upper wing tearing off from 1 well placed 20mm...

i know it proved itself in a number of important victories, but it just wouldnt work in AH, would be fun to shoot down tho  :devil

Sure would be fun, but sticking with it would be a challenge. Considering it's ability to maneuver at low speeds would make it more versatile than an A6M.

Hm, i watched an episode of Dogfights with the swordfish, i didnt see anything spectacular.

i'm thinking it'd stall at a 5% climb...

and with what little armament it does have, IMO

they would be good for anything but torping unprotected TG's, and even then you'd need a couple wingmates to make a deceent dent in their fighting effectivness

and possibly special events, but thatd be suicide for the pilots, as a squad of zeros or Franks would shred um to ribbons...

just my opinion

While dogfights is merely unrealistic, I was still mistaken. I was thinking of biplanes in general that were used in WWII. The biplanes designated as fighters were quite manueverable and since they traveled at low speeds could be a real pain to aircraft requiring more airspeed for lift.

Yea...i know where your coming from with the manueverability thing, and yea, some of the things these pilots pulled off has been allitle....questionable.(I.E. the 38-L episode)

anyway, it would just get chewed up too quick, and everything we have would outrun/outclimb it....

I'm aware of that.

Biplanes would be H2H material.
