 I like the HS129 much better than the Stuka. But, and I'll try to find the source, pilots reported it was as slow and cumbersome as the Stuka and not any real significant improvement over it.

The Hs-129 used captured French engines and was horribly slow, not to mention barely maneuverable in compairison to Ju-87s. It was, in short, a German Il-2; loads of firepower at the expense of maneuverability and speed. Usually they carried a pair of MG 151/20 cannons along with either a Bk 3.7 or 5 cannon. Rarely was the Bk 7.5 used due to the recoil effects; a 37mm AP round from above would definitely punch through a King Tiger's turret roof armor [1.2 inches]. If you missed the turret, you could always blow the engine with a bullet that big.

I wouldn't mind seeing either aircraft here. The Hs-129 I've never heard of in a sim, and the Ju-87 was a blast to fly in WBs. My only gripe [to this day, nearly 7 months since I quit WBs] was the lack of a siren. Vox Sounds had a siren, but it never worked. Dive brakes were a real trip; either they slowly pulled the nose down or only acted as a speed brake. Depending on how you had it trimmed. I'd like to see that 2G negative whip into a dive when they're deployed. I'll never forget seeing a short film clip and the sight of that Ju-87s nose dumping as it went into a screaming dive.

I am an Hs 129 fan, but it probably makes more sense to do the Ju 87G with the 37mm guns, because the Ju 87 has variants that would be useful for early war scenarios.  But I would not complain one bit if we got an Hs 129.

PS The MK 103 was a pretty common gun on the Hs 129 too.

PPS What we really need for main arena play is the Il-2.  If we get the Il-2 and a Soviet level bomber we could do some mid-war eastern front scenarios that would rock.

Hmmm, Pe-2FT or Tu-2S for level bomber?

If going for a good Soviet level bomber go for the Pe-2.  the TU-2 was a bit faster (Pe-2 336 mph @ 16,500 feet TU-2 342 mph @ 17,750 feet.)  Also the biggest difference was that the Pe-2 was designed as a Dive bomber the TU-2 was a level bomber only.  the addition of the 132 mm Soviet rockets on the Pe-2 that the TU coupld not carry you get a nasty  Attack bomber.

Tu 2 was quite a bit larger than the Pe 2 and carried about twice the ordnance.  It also had some impressive cannon and MG armament.  Really a nice weapon.

Pe-2 Max bombload 2205 lbs of bombs and two 132 mm rockets.  TU-2S max bombload 6614 lb of bombs.  This is also a late war plane as opposed to the Pe-2 which was used throughout the war.  TU2 didn't enter service untill early 1944.

The prototype(unfortunately) ground-attack versions of the Tu-2 are certainly interesting... Eg: 2x20mm ShVAK, 2x37mm NS-37 and 2x45mm NS-45 - IMPRESSIVE!
