Pz.Kpfw. 1
« on: September 03, 2009, 04:09:54 PM »
Otherwise known as the Panzerjager 1, the Pz.Kpfw. 1 saw service in the invasion of France, the North African Campaign, and in Russia. It had a Pak 43 but could also (And commonly was.) fitted with a Czech 4.7 anti tank gun. It was Germany's first tracked tank destroyer. Personaly I think it would be a wonderfull addition to the game as a German early war Gv.

This is not quite correct.

The Pz.Kpfw 1 was a light tank. The Panzerjäger 1 was a variant using the chassis of the PzKpfw I. Also it used only the 47mm Pak 36(t), with the exception of a handful vehicles armed with a 3.7cm Pak. It was a very small vehicle and would never had been able to carry a huge 8.8 cm Pak 43 (vehicles that did carry such a gun were the huge Nashorn, Elefant/Ferdinand, Jagdpanther etc)

It's a Panzerjäger i in the picture.
The PzKpfw I had a small turret with two machineguns only:

Think that PzkW-1 is something?  Check out that Fiat CV33 (L3/33) behind it in Lusche's picture!  Hot Italian engineering; well, at least the flame-thrower version was hot.

This looks fun , but lots of Gv's do , One day there might be so many that all GV's might get a seperate hanger area on your clip board . But this panzerjadger ( if I spelled it right ) would be an ambush gun , a spawn camping machine so to speak . Its small , you have a gun that is higher up so you could hide behind a rise in the ground and do your business .

Don't be afraid to put it out there , if it gets cut off it'll grow back
On your mark , Get set , go away !
