Could we have the f6s and the f4us have the ability to fold their wings.

What's the purpose? What would it do in Aces High?

It might be cool in events.. e.g. if we were allowed to spawn in, but not start the engine till CM gives the go.  Everyone would be either parked on the deck or in the hangar decks while the game automates the trip thru elevator, etc.  Or you could let the players do it, but that'd be a good recipe for lots of wrecks :)
It'd be pretty cool..  Late joiners would be last in line or just spawn as now if everyone else had already rolled.

I'd rather have an option to take off in my F4U-1A as a Goodyear-produced land-based version (FG-1A) without the folding wings and arrestor hook and shave another 500-1000lbs off the plane. Would be FAR more useful than being able to actually fold the wings in a sim where there's no practical purpose for doing so.

Is there a practical purpose to playing a game other than for fun?

Love it. We could have it, like moot said, so you start on deck, or in the hanger, while an automated sequence takes you into the elevator, and raises you to the flight deck. Once there you would have to hit a button to unfold wings, and there will be a little dude on the end of the runway, telling you when to take off. To prevent him from getting killed, I recomed we have it so the chalks are removed when he gives the go :D.

what would be fun would be folding the wings in flight.

LOL enker. Good use, atleast while up high enough. If we ever get this, I bet I use this to get out of jams. To prevent people from using it all the time though, lets have it so it takes like 3 secs for wings to unfold.

Until your wings snap off from the strain, or you enter an unrecoverable spin before they can be opened again....

one other thing about cv planes, why is TBM not available as an 'attack' plane?

Although it wouldn't serve any real purpose, it would be kind of neat!

I'd also like to see your plane brought up to the deck via elevator when you spawn, operational cooling flaps on the cowl, and the option to open the canopy for a breath of fresh air while taxiing or landing.

And an LSO would be really cool too!

Of course, no practical purpose for any of that, but it would be cool!  I had a simulator where I could do the canopy and cowl flaps, and it was just kind of neat.  I also used the option there to manually operate mixture and RPM, and I even had to use the mouse to click on the various starter switches and magnetos to start the engine.  I loved it!

Then again, I left that game to play this one, and haven't looked back...
