Extended time allowed for post modification

so I could delete the multiple exclamation points in my last thread title that in retrospect, do seem a little obnoxious.

Yes! This and the ability to delete own posts...it's just a small setting in SMF's admin panel...

Person 1 picks a fight using insults and breaking rules. Gets an indignant reply from the person he/she attacked. Then goes back and edits original post after the fact to look all innocent, now the person who has been attacked looks like the instigator.

It HAS happened in the past. Many times. The edit times are short so this (and other things) can't be done.

Plus, you can't change the topic name anyway, only the content of a post.

You most certainly can change the topic name. Haven't you seen 'Sorry posted in wrong forum' topics? Think they typed that in that field before they hit submit? :)

By Jove you're right! I got confused with another forum I frequent quite often where you can edit the body but not the topic. My bad!
