Cvs seem to have wheels
« on: September 08, 2009, 09:36:20 AM »
Has anyone else noticed the cvs actually turning around on the land? Seen it twice in midwar since the last patch. Thought they fixed it to where the cv had to stay out farther. Was defending a base took off runway and ships auto guns where hammering away at us upon wheels up. Just curious was fun anyway needless to say they didn't get the base. :P

The "brown" isn't necessarily land.  Launch an LVT and see how long it takes to actually hit "land".

Granted, CV's shouldn't be able to sail in the "shallow water" anyway.....

I saw that happen the other day on one of the newer maps in the MW arena.  The CV was parked on shore about 100 yards off one of the runways, planes were getting wiped out just as they spawned for take off.

When I was watching it happen overhead, I was laughing that someone was in the cruiser main guns was vulching planes as they spawned.   Didn't think they would be able to get the main guns to deflect that low.

speaking of torpedoes....a few weeks ago I watched a guy in a PT take down a town on the coast by simply launching torpedoes toward the town. A few of us watched those lil guys burrow right on to land and take down buildings. Think I have it on tape somewhere.......we shot him down many times, and I staring recording just is we saw buildings exploding with no GV'z or air cons insight......almost forgot about that... :salute

SAPP pioneered the use of torpedoes for taking out towns and other buildings.  It's the only ordnance we use as its the most effective, stand off range weapon for that task.

Is kinda funny to see the fleet steaming across land, but it really does need to be fixed.

Cv attacks are alot of fun to defend against, but please keep them a reasonable distance off shore! :aok
