Missions are very diverse, and the only thing that limits them is the limited imagination of some people.

Some people will launch the same old 110's and a goon NOE, or 40 hvy P47s to flatten everything. Those people either have no imagination, or just can't bothered to think up a real plan. With the mission planner you can have any number of wings flying any number of planes, following any number of way points, from any number of bases. With a little math you can stagger the launch times so That the plane launch at the right times to have the right amount of time to climb out to different point to meet up with other wings launched from different bases.

There is nothing as neat as climbing out to your way points with a half dozen buff formations to level off and have your fighter cover come sliding in over head. Talk about realism !

I'd rather defend.

Until they start paying us to win maps, such is the path of wisdom.

Hmmm...let me see...weight a marginal fighter like the 110 down with eggs and fly (slowly) at 100feet AGL on my mission to fight ack and buildings, the likely outcomes of the mission being either no opposition OR certain ignominious death...

Or do I *defend* against such tactics?

Woo. Tough choice.  :devil

"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

What I have found is large attacks on bases...green guys totally outnumbered....mayhem with red guys fighting each other for a kill on all sides........oh wait, that's my bad....I have this problem with looking for a base with dar down, min of half a sector red dar, and if I'm lucky a little bit of a green dar..... just so I can moan on 200 about the fact that the red guys don't want to fight....same for all sides :D

But seriously now..........fine I can't be serious but my findings, slim as they are.... Bish seem to be more helpful all round...Rooks are fun when you are known..and nits can be fun and helpful, if you are patient. but ultimately this all comes down to the player...you can either be in or out it is your choice.....all sides are simply the same type of people with a different symbol above their  cartoon transport.

oh yeah this was about base taking tactics....... as has been said, a combined ground and air is hard to defend.

I'm a little new to forums but thanks for all the responses. To answer someones question FBDred will return someday soon I hope. Until then its me and FBBob and our wing commanders. With all respect to the FB's for the most part we start rolling bases as a squad when its late and no ones around. Evidence for this: My fellow FB's consistently complain about ENY when we are on, meaning that one or both opposite sides are logging off. I'd like to get back to the good old days when I first played aces high about a year ago when we dominated the skies with Mega Buff missions and co-squad operations.

I used to think that all countries were different...until I started changing sides, countries the same, people are different.  But there are good people on all sides of the fence

Tactics? Take down the town and kill whoever trys to stop you. Then straf maproom and let the troops run. If you don't have much skill, get 50 guys and go noe. That seems to be the tactic.

I gotta say a lot of these ideas I have either already used or never got enough people to atempt. Last night i tried a new one I'd like to share. After watching the bishops for a short period of time I learned alot about the nature of airbase defense itself. A base is virtually defenseless without a VH or ack guns, and those who up from an adjacent base are hesitant to make the trip to defend.
Last night I used 190A-8's, b25's, and 38j's in sequential missions to effectively take 5 bases with a small group of guys.
The b25h is my own twist to the deack and cap equation...its an effective deacker

Yeah i did say that. It was true for last nights ops too. So i dont know how effective this type of attack would be with a good defense upping
