Beautiful Oboe! We wouldn't mind another L skin but we'd really love it on the J despite the wait.

Gotta keep it accurate though.  Not seeing any red tailed J models.  Red tails would be Ls

The red tail is nice addition and I know that the red tails were L's. Weren't the metal tail with the serial's J's?

Thanks once again Oboe for the fantastic skin.  :salute

Yep on the J's.  L models didn't get into combat until mid to late October 44.  The MTO got the new stuff later then most.  At one point they sent pilots to England to ferry down the surviving P38Hs from the 20th, and 55th FGs.  Sad Sack of the 82nd was a P38F that was still flying combat in May 44.  Replacement pilots in the MTO were surprised to find themselves at times going into combat on earlier versions of the 38 then they had trained on in the US.

The 9th AF 38 Groups arrived in the ETO with J-10 and J-15s in early 44

I haven't submitted any new 38L skins yet - trying to find a way to keep them from looking too "cookie cutter" and finding the right balance of hue, opacity, and saturation on the 82nd's red nose and spinners.   Work is keeping me very busy too so not finding much time to work on them.

Will get them in soon tho, and let you know when submitted and if accepted, etc.
